Homemade Mobiles

What I love most about mobiles is they reflect the personality of a child so easily, AND can be taken apart to have their favorite treasures back later. Mobiles can be nature themed, holiday themed, or just a few things your child finds unique or beautiful. (Mobiles make nice heartfelt gifts for grandparents and neighbors too!) Have your child hunt around the house, their room, and the backyard for items to create.

Ideas for collecting:

  • keys
  • mismatched earrings
  • spools
  • buttons
  • shells
  • scraps of fabric
  • single measuring spoons
  • pinecones

Tools to have on hand:

  • twine, yarn, plastic coated wire or pipe cleaners
  • child sized scissors
  • hole punch for fabrics and paper items
