Playing in the Rain

Fill a basket full of items that you can use in the sandbox and around the yard on a rainy day.

Here are a few ideas:

• Spoons, pans and dishes for making mud pies
• Small shovels for digging 
• Old combs or brushes to make designs in the mud or sand
• Sponges, dish soap, and old rags to “clean” outdoor furniture and playsets
• Magnifying glass to get a closer look at worms, lady bugs, and other bugs
• Sidewalk chalk for drawing on wet sidewalks
