Puddle Jumping

If a spring shower comes your way, grab those rain boots and head outside! Drop rocks, leaves, and sticks in the puddles. What floats? Look closely at the puddle’s surface. Can you see your reflection? What do raindrops do to the puddle? Can you hear the rain hitting the ground? Are birds singing?

Keep an eye out for animals in the rain too! You might spot a squirrel with his tail on his back, trying to stay dry. If you are lucky enough to find earthworms, take a minute to watch how they move. Where is their head? Are they as long as your hand? Don’t forget to watch the puddles for splashing birds.

Follow their lead… jump in and enjoy!
