We appreciate the input given and will use this information to continue to improve your experience with us and to strive to be the “berry best.” Below please find a brief summary of improvements we are implementing as a result of the survey:

o Kinderberry Currant Newsletter. – Watch for the Kinderberry Currant newsletter in September. Families will receive quarterly communication regarding their child’s classroom and center events.
o An “E Blast” update will be periodically sent to those families who have requested this form of communication. - If you would like to receive these updates, please provide your executive program director with an e-mail address.
o Enhanced Web site. – Look for updates and enhancements on our web site. These updates will be implemented throughout the remainder of 2010 and into 2011.
o Menu improvements. - We want to promote good health, so we have implemented the following initiatives in our centers:
o We have partnered with the Minnesota Department of Health to offer the LANA (Learning About Nutrition through Activities) Preschool Program to help young children learn to taste, eat, and enjoy more fruits and vegetables.
o We offer organic baby food.
o Our menus feature 100% juice, whole grains, and fresh fruit and vegetables to support good health.
o Staff development. - Our 2010/2011 staff development calendar will include more opportunities to learn about behavior guidance, positive communication with parents, and learning enrichments and enhancements to ensure our staff have all the tools and resources to provide the highest level of education and care to the children entrusted in our care.
o Family resources from our nurse – Look for new brochures and materials to provide parents with effective tools and strategies for understanding and addressing health and safety issues in early childhood.
o Spanish curriculum resources. – Our Spanish enrichment specialist has designed resources to support teachers in reinforcing and enhancing the concepts and skills learned in Spanish class. The materials include visuals, pronunciation guides, CDs, and more.
o 74% of the families who participated in the survey expressed interest in an immersion curriculum program. - As a result of this request, we are researching possible immersion curriculum programs.
If you have questions about the survey results for your center, please discuss them with your executive program director.

Again, thank you to all who participated in our Annual Family Survey.

Sincerely,
The Kinderberry Hill Operations Team

Eden Prairie Klimbers News
Our Klimbers program has partnered with Elim Shores (independent and assisted living in Eden Prairie) a group of residents are visiting our center every Friday for 7 weeks. Each Friday has a theme and each child is matched with a partner from Elim shores for an activity. The theme was gardening and they decorated a pot together. We then filled the pot with a geranium for them to take with.
